Secretary Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), Ishtiak Ahmed Khan said on Monday that all out efforts are being made to complete the final voter lists to hold free, fair and transparent elections.

All available resources are being utilized to prepare the final voter lists but it will take some more time to achieve the transparent lists of the voters, he stated this while talking to a private television channel.

“We need some more time to complete the lists and the political parties and civil society have supported the ECP stance in this regard, “ he said.

ECP is following the procedure given in the constitution, he stated. “The people who have their CNICs would automatically be endorsed in the voter lists, “ he said.
The ECP had started door-to-door verification of votes for preparing electoral rolls.The scheduled completion of verification was delayed due to floods and other similar reasons.
He, however said that all the tasks of final voter lists would be completed in the next few months.
