Pak-Iran border once again closed

Iran on Monday closed Zero point, the trade gate between two countries, in the bordering town of Taftan.

According to the local administration, Iranian border officials citing the security reasons and as part of making arrangements ahead of the religious festival in Iran.

The officials said that Iranian border officials have shut down the Zero point for an indefinite period.

The affected traders have demanded authorities concerned to take up the issue with Iran and reopen the trade gate as soon as possible.

Earlier, Iran had shut down Zero point on 21 Sep, 2011 and reopened it after three months following conclusive talks with Pakistani officials.
