1st International Women Leaders' moot tomorrow
An international women leaders' moot is being organized on January 25.
The organizers said here on Tuesday that this is being held as part of the Women in Business Conference Series (WIBCON) for professional women.
They said that the speakers including Rokia Afzal Rehman, a former Minister from Bangladesh and a leading businesswoman, will deliver the keynote address on `Enterprising Women-Lessons from South and Far East Asia'.
Social activist and voice of Afghan Radio during the Afghan War Jamila Mujahed from Afghanistan will share her experiences on `Tools of Education for Afghan Women during War', while famous author Elif Shafak from Turkey will speak on `Women, Modern Day Living and Spirituality', and the first Pakistani Emmy Award winner Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy will discuss `Women Facing Challenges of Extremism'.
Representatives of leading business organizations including Asad Umar, President Pakistan Business Council, Naved A. Khan, President OICCI, and Mian Abrar President KCCI will discuss role of businesses to promote gender diversity.
A panel moderated by Dr. Huma Baqai, Associate Professor IBA Karachi, will include senior bureaucrat Begum Nasreen Haque, Ayesha Aziz, Nadira Panjwani and Yasmin Lari to discuss the success of women in public and private sectors.
Ayesha Tammy Haq will lead the session on Local Entrepreneurs Success Stories with Sana Safinaz, Farzeen Irtizaz and local entrepreneurs.
Aamir Niazi and Kunwar Saeed, Board members of Pakistan Society for Training and Development (PSTD), expressed PSTD's resolve to promote such forums for learning and networking opportunities among women professionals in Pakistan.
The conference would be attended by delegates from Pakistan, South Asia and the Middle East.
The conference is being organized by PSTD, which is a non-profit and non-governmental organization, committed to the promotion of professional Human Resource Development through organizing training programmes and conferences and New World Concepts, a marketing and management consultancy.
Yasmin Hyder, Chief Executive, New World Concepts, stated that the driving force of this conference is to provide a forum for dynamic female leaders, entrepreneurs, opinion makers in the region, to explore their potential, share their success and inspire many more to take their lead.
She added that the presence of international and Pakistani speakers lends global learning opportunities for women entrepreneurs and professionals in Pakistan.
