CJP gives credit to lawyers for independent judiciary
Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry has said that the credit of independence of judiciary goes to lawyers community.
This he said while speaking at "Roll Signing" ceremony held here Saturday for advocates selected to practice in the Supreme Court. He said that the judiciary and lawyers are working within the parameters of the constitution and hoped that lawyers would continue to work for rule of law in the country.
He said that the historic judgment of 7-member bench of SC has blocked the way of unconstitutional interference in the institutions.
Later, the Chief Justice awarded practice certificates to 23 selected lawyers- 21 from Sindh and two from Balochistan.
