Pakistan U-19 team beat SA by 54 runs
Pakistan beat South Africa (SA) by 54 runs in the Tri-Nation Under-19s Tournament played at Stellenbosch University Ground, South Africa on Saturday.
Put into bat, Pakistan scored 260 runs in 50 overs for the loss of 9 wickets. Sami Aslam scored a magnificent 112 followed by a brilliant 52 from Babar Azam. Other mentionable batsmen were Adnan Mehmood (24) and Mohammad Nawaz (10), others could hardly make it to the double figure, says a scorecard issued here.
For SA, R Engelbrecht and L Ngoepe bagged three wickets each for 38 and 47 runs respectively.
In reply, SA were all out on 206 runs in 46.5 overs. C Bowes (63), D Rosier (52) and T Muller (24) were some of SA's mentionable batsman.
For Pakistan, Mohammad Nawaz was the pick of the bowlers as he bagged 5 wickets for 33 runs followed by Usman Qadir 3 for 53. Ehsan Adil and Zia-ul-Haq shared one wicket each for 19 and 15 runs respectively.
The Player of the match was Mohammad Nawaz (3) of Pakistan.
With this victory, Pakistan stands at five points while the hosts are at a zero.
