Nawaz says will move Supreme Court over secret memo issue

PML-N Chief and former Perime Minister Nawaz Sharif Saturday said his party would move the Supreme Court of Pakistan if the issue of secret memo was not resolved.

Talking to newsmen here, PML-N Chief demanded that an inquiry should be carried out over secret memo issue and the National Assembly could also look into the matter.

A Commission could also be formed in the matter. He stressed that the investigation should be completed soon. Nawaz Sharif said that PML-N was not afraid of Senate elections (due to be held in mid-March 2012) and wanted the democratic setup to be continued.

He said he raised voice over murder of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto. He asked whether former President Pervez Musharraf could not be tried because he had been in military uniform. "Had government implemented Charter of Democracy, there would have been no memo gate," Sharif observed.
