Work on Pak-Iran Gas pipeline to start in six months: Asim

Federal Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources Dr. Asim said work on Pak-Iran gas pipeline is expected to start in six months which would complete in 2014. Prime Minister and Foreign Minister are trying to wipe out American’s concerns over that matter.

Talking to BBC in a special interview, Federal Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources Dr. Asim said Pak-Iran gas pipeline plan would be completed till 2014. Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani and Foreign Minister are trying to find a solution of the apprehensions of America regarding the plan. It is to be noted that India was also a part of the plan earlier but India sidelined itself under sheer pressure of USA.

He added present regime is stuck to the energy policy and soon it would be uncovered. Petroleum Minister didn’t call energy crisis in the danger zone and it would be controlled till June next year.

In addition, he said government is working on emergency basis about energy crisis and Cabinet Committee approved the installation of 1100 MW Power House at Kohala. Another Power House plan comprised 500 MW to be generated with Gas in Ooch was also approved.
