MQM files petition against deferment of AJK polls
The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) here today filed a petition in the Sindh High Court against the deferment of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir elections in Karachi.
The MQM petitioned the court to declare the AJK elections illegal on grounds of alleged government interference in the process and the Election Commission’s postponement of the polls in Karachi.
Speaking to media representatives, MQM MNA Haider Abbas Rizvi said the public did not trust the election results and that the postponement of the polls in Karachi made the process “unconstitutionalâ€.
