Zardari visit to Turkey a landmark in Pak-Turk brotherly relations
Former Foreign Secretary, Najmuddin Sheikh termed President Asif Ali Zardari's visit to Turkey as another landmark in Pak-Turk brotherly relations and said it will help further strengthen bilateral relations and trace new venues of cooperation.
Talking to Radio Pakistan, he said Pakistan and Turkey are very close friendly Muslim countries and Turks always welcome Pakistanis.
He said Turk people never obliterated the support of Muslims of sub-continent for Ottoman Caliphate.
To a question, he said Pakistan and Turkey could enhance their bilateral economic relations as Turkey is playing its tremendous role in Mid-East and European trade.
He said Turkey has acquired specialization in development of infrastructure and Pakistan can take benefit of its expertise to develop own infrastructure. Turkey is also playing an important role in solution of Afghan issue, he said.
