Kazmi claims innocence in Hajj corruption case
Former Federal Minister Hamid Saeed Kazmi, claiming his innocence in the Hajj corruption case, pleaded that he was being implicated in this case for his clear stance on many issues.
He said this while talking to media persons in the Parliament House on Tuesday after attending the joint session of the Parliament.
Kazmi, who is currently in the custody of Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), was brought in the Parliament House by the FIA officials under high security in accordance to the production orders issued by the Speaker of the National Assembly Dr. Fehmida Mirza on Monday.
Responding to a question about his ongoing investigations in the custody of FIA, Kazmi said, "I am being punished for some reasons which I cannot disclose today".
"I am in the custody of FIA and investigations are under way. I am hopeful that I will be declared innocent in the case. As I had not committed any wrongdoing and the nation knows well", he said.
He requested the Supreme Court to take action against those who could not produce any documentary proofs against him in the case even after passage of months.
Without naming anyone, Hamid Saeed Kazmi said, "I have been targeted by someone and my case is being monitored by that specifically." Â Â He thanked Dr. Fehmida Mirza Speaker and Deputy Speaker Faisal Karim Kundi for issuing his production orders to attend the Joint Session of the Parliament.
Responding to a question about his health, he said, "Definitely, I am under heavy stress due to this but hopefully I will be exonerated."
