Routine win for New Zealand

New Zealand made it four wins from five World Cup outings with a routine 97-run thrashing of Canada in Mumbai.

Brendon McCullum struck 101 for the Black Caps while acting-captain Ross Taylor was at his destructive best once more, bludgeoning 74 from 44 balls as New Zealand made 358.

The Canadians surely didn't have any hope of knocking off the runs at more than seven an over, particularly after Kyle Mills picked up two wickets in his first two overs.

Captain Ashish Bagai (84) and Jimmy Hansra (70 not out) hit half-centuries as the associate Test nation struggled to 281-9 in their 50 overs.

Victory takes the Kiwis to the top of Group A while Canada remain with just a solitary win in five games.
