16 die in Karachi firing incidents

At least sixteen people have been killed in separate incidents of firing in Karachi on Friday.

Wali Khan Babar, a reporter of private TV channel, was targeted by unknown armed men in Liquatabad Super Market on Thursday night.

Wali Khan received five bullets and succumbed to his injuries on the spot.

Nine people have lost their lives and several injured when unknown armed pillion riders opened fire on two passenger buses in Orangi Town.

Another incident of firing occurred in Korangi Town, where a man died with firing of unknown persons.

In Liaquatabad, two people were killed by unknown gunmen. The same incident took place near Jam Sadiq bridge, where assailants opened fire, killing a man.

Major (rtd) Iqbal Kashmiri, a co-pilot of Chief Minister Sindh Qaim Ali Shah's helicopter, shot dead in Gulistan-e-Jauhar. One more person killed in firing incident in the metropolis.

Police and Rangers have been checking vehicles and patrolling problematic areas in order to curb rising firing incidents.
