Zardari directs to remove MQM concerns
President Asif Ali Zardari on Tuesday directed to remove all reservations of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM).
Senior leaders in coalition government met for crisis talks after MQM announced its ministers were quitting the federal cabinet.
President Asif Ali Zardari held talks with chief minister of Sindh Dr. Ishrat-ul-Ibad Khan, Interior Minister Rehman Malik, chief minister of Sindh Qaim Ali Shah and federal minister for law Babar Awan, at his Karachi bungalow.
"The president doesn't want to lose MQM's support and is in no mood to accept his ministers' resignations," a PPP leader said.
"The interior minister is in contact with the MQM leadership to settle the differences."
In the meeting, President Zardari directed Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah to take MQM into confidence and to remove all reservations shown by the MQM.
