Lawyers torture case: All FIRs against police reopened, says IG Punjab

The Supreme Court (SC) on Wednesday adjourned the hearing of lawyers torture case for another two weeks.

A 3-judge SC bench headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Iftikhar Mohammed Chaudhry heard the suo moto notice of the case regarding police torture on lawyers at Aiwan-e-Adl, Lahore .

During the hearing, IG Punjab said that FIRs against policemen, who were involved in Aiwan-e-Adl mishandling of lawyers in Lahore have been reopened.

Attorney General (AG) Punjab said the FIRs had been cancelled by the police on its own.

IG Punjab sought more time for investigation in the case and said that crime branch will now investigate it.
