Senate on Wednesday will continue debate on reformed general sales tax (RGST) bill.

On Tuesday, the Senate Standing Committee on Finance and Economic Affairs unanimously approved the RGST.

Addressing the Senate, Federal Minister for Finance and Economic Affairs, Abdul Hafiz Shaikh said the government wanted to restructure tax system and end privileges.

Hafeez Shaikh said that Reformed General Sales Tax (RGST) bill is an attempt by the government to bring reforms in 20 years old General Sales Tax system.
