Inspector General (IG) of Police Punjab Tariq Saleem Dogar on Thursday said that 126,117 police force including PQRs and special police force would be deployed for the provision of effective security cover during Eid-ul-Azha and Moharram-ul-Haram.

Addressing the RPOs Conference on Thursday, the IG directed that no body should be allowed to carry or display the weapons and the time schedule and routes of the processions should be adhered to strictly.

The meeting was informed that approximately 36,031 majalis would be held; while 9,690 mourning processions be taken out in the province and 126,117 police force including PQRs and special police force would be deployed for the provision of effective security cover.

Special attention should be given to the security of imambargahs, cand important religious personalities and audio, video coverage of important majalis and processions be ensured, he added.

The inner and outer cordoning of venues/routes of majalis/processions be ensured, he added.

Misuse of loud speakers as well as parking of vehicles around venues/routes of majalis/processions should not be allowed, he observed.
