Former President Farooq Leghari passes away
Former President of Pakistan, Farooq Ahmad Khan Leghari passed away in the Armed Forces Institute of Cardiology in Rawalpindi, following a long illness. He was 70.
Leghari suffered from cardiac problems and had been admitted to the Combined Military Hospital a few days ago.
Leghari was one of the founding member of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP). He served as head of state from November 1993 to December 1997.
He was the country's eighth president.
