A US sailor was stabbed to death and another was wounded when a fight broke out at a bar in Halifax, Canada, early on Saturday, CBC television reported.
The fight began at a night-club before dawn on Saturday and then escalated and spilled out onto the street, a Halifax police spokeswoman told CBC.
The sailor was stabbed and died later in hospital, the spokeswoman said. The other sailor suffered only minor injuries.
Five suspects were arrested and were being questioned by authorities, though police told CBC no charges have been filed.
