Ahmadinejad vows to press on with nuclear work

Ahmadinejad vows to press on with nuclear workIranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad vowed on Friday to press on with the country's controversial nuclear work despite the threat of UN sanctions, state-run radio reported.
"With the help of God and the strong nation's support we will continue our nuclear activities, and the enemy cannot do a thing," he was quoted as saying.
"They are scared of Iran's progress and are creating obstacles on our country's path to development. They lie and say they are worried about Iran making an atomic bomb," he added.
The United States and the European Union suspect Iran of using a civilian nuclear energy programme to mask atomic weapons work and have spearheaded international pressure for tough measures against Iran.
Oil-rich Iran denies the charges, insisting it only wants to generate electricity.
Top Iranian nuclear negotiator Ali Larijani warned Friday that Tehran would review its co-operation with UN nuclear watchdog if the UN Security Council imposes tough sanctions currently under consideration.
