Palestinian activist killed in Israel's West Bank raid
A Palestinian resistance fighter was killed on Tuesday in a pre-dawn shootout with the Israeli army at the Ain Bit Ilma camp in the northern West Bank town of Nablus, Palestinian security officials said.
Baha Khatari, 20, was a member of the Abu Ali Mustapha Brigades, the military wing of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP).
The Israeli army confirmed the clash to AFP.
Khatari's death brought to 5,563 the number of people killed, most of them Palestinians, since the start of the intifada or Palestinian uprising in September 2000, according to an AFP count.
