Israel to reopen guerrilla warfare center

Israel to reopen guerrilla warfare centerThe Israeli military will reopen a center for anti-guerrilla warfare where troops will train with paintball to correct weaknesses exposed during this summer's war with Lebanon's Hizbullah, the army said on Tuesday.
The center inside the Elyakim military base in northern Israel was closed following the Jewish state's withdrawal from Lebanon in May 2000, 18 years after Israel's first war in Lebanon began.
The center will provide training in camouflage techniques and satellite navigation systems, and soldiers will train with paintball, the army's Bamahaneh weekly reported.
"Our goal is to complete training for all officers and part of the rank and file soldiers in two years," Lieutenant Colonel Lior Lifshitz, the base commander, told the paper.
