KENSINGTON OVAL, BRIDGETOWN, BARBADOS
- Ground established in 1871, refurbished in 2006 in time for the 2007 World Cup at a cost of 130 million dollars with capacity increased from 12,500 to 28,000.
Staged the 2007 World Cup final between Australia and Sri Lanka, a match which ended in farce and in darkness.
Pitches are fast and bouncy, but generally favour the batsmen.
PROVIDENCE STADIUM, PROVIDENCE, GUYANA
- Established in 2006 as a venue for the 2007 World Cup and boasts capacity of 15,000.
But its construction, at a cost of 25 million dollars, was fraught with problems with widespread criticism of the Indian-built venue ranging from power shortages to crowd control.
As a national stadium, it replaced the ramshackle, but much-loved, Bourda Oval.
BEAUSEJOUR STADIUM, GROS ISLET, ST LUCIA
- Established in 2002 and in 2006 became first ground in the West Indies to stage a floodlight one-day international when Zimbabwe were the visitors.
Stadium has a seating capacity of 15,000.
Hosted group matches at the 2007 World Cup as well as a semi-final in which Australia defeated old rivals South by seven wickets.
