Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar Khan’s mother has passed away, the party leader confirmed on social media on Saturday.

Gohar said the funeral prayers of her mother would be offered at 4pm on Saturday in Dagar village in Buner district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi and Jamaat-e-Islami Deputy Amir Liaquat Baloch were among political leaders who expressed condolences to Gohar over his mother’s death.

The prime minister prayed for the deceased’s forgiveness and elevation in status and for patience for the bereaved family.

“Our sympathies are with Barrister Gohar Ali Khan and his family in this difficult hour,” Shehbaz said.

The PTI leadership also expressed deep grief over the death and extended condolences to Gohar and his family.

In a statement, the party’s spokesperson said the entire PTI leadership, parliamentarians, leaders and workers stood with Gohar and his family and conveyed their heartfelt condolences and sympathy during the difficult time.
