Gunmen abduct headmaster from Bannu school, SHO and six officers snatched in S. Waziristan

Kidnappings of government officials and police personnel have surged to alarming levels across southern districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, with a school headmaster abducted in Bannu and a station house officer along with six constables seized in South Waziristan in separate incidents.

According to security sources, unidentified armed men entered Government High School Sardad Khan in the Mandio area of Tehsil Miryan, Bannu, and abducted head teacher Nisar Ahmed in broad daylight.

CCTV footage obtained by Aaj News shows masked gunmen escorting Ahmed out of the school premises.

In a separate incident in South Waziristan, SHO Sararogha and six police personnel were kidnapped from the Bangiwala area.

Police said the SHO Ahmad Shah and his team were providing protection to a bomb disposal squad at the time of the abduction.

A search operation is currently underway in the area, police said.
