PM Shehbaz holds high-level talks in Beijing today

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will spend a busy day in Beijing today (Monday) as he will hold high-level talks with the Chinese leadership.

According to official sources, the prime minister is scheduled to meet Chinese President Xi Jinping, Premier Li Qiang, and other senior Chinese leadership.

Upon arrival at the Great Hall of the People, Prime Minister Sharif will be presented with a guard of honour.

He will be received by the Chinese premier, followed by formal talks between the two leaders at the delegation level.

Talks will cover measures to further strengthen Pakistan-China All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership and advance cooperation under CPEC Phase-II, particularly in trade, investment, industry, agriculture, science and technology, and people-to-people exchanges.

Both sides are expected to witness the signing and exchange of agreements during the visit.

The prime minister will also visit Tiananmen Square to lay a wreath at the Monument to the People’s Heroes.

In addition, he is scheduled to meet the chief executives of Chinese companies and leading investors.

Prime Minister Sharif will also attend a ceremony marking the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China.
