The pavilion of Pakistan’s Punjab province was formally inaugurated on Monday at the 13th session of the United Nations World Urban Forum in Baku.
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif attended the opening ceremony and reviewed various projects and initiatives displayed at the pavilion.
The exhibition highlights Punjab’s progress in urban planning, sustainable development, affordable housing and digital governance.
Officials briefed the chief minister on the province’s public welfare and climate-smart development projects aimed at improving urban infrastructure and living standards.
The pavilion also featured the Punjab government’s “Apni Chhat Apna Ghar” programme, under which more than 100,000 homes have been commissioned for low-income families.
The forum brings together policymakers, urban planners and development experts from around the world to discuss sustainable urban growth and housing solutions.
