A bridge under construction on the Nasir canal in Kandhkot collapsed suddenly, killing three workers and injuring several others, officials and local sources said on Friday.

Several workers were buried under the debris after the structure gave way while construction work was underway.

The bodies of three people were recovered, while injured workers were shifted to a nearby hospital.

Residents took part in rescue efforts before official teams arrived.

According to initial reports, work was ongoing at the site when the bridge collapsed. The exact cause of the incident is not yet known.

An emergency was declared in the area, and police and local administration were called to the scene to assist rescue operations.
