PM, Sindh governor discuss ceasefire diplomacy, provincial matters

Governor of Sindh Nehal Hashmi called on Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday, where the two discussed regional developments and matters related to the province.

According to a press release issued by the Prime Minister’s Office Media Wing, the governor appreciated the prime minister’s efforts in facilitating the ceasefire between the United States and Iran, as well as his continued initiatives aimed at promoting regional peace.

Governor Hashmi also conveyed his best wishes to the prime minister during the meeting.

The governor briefed the premier on various administrative and development-related issues concerning Sindh.

Meets Ishaq Dar

Separately, Governor Hashmi also met Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar.

During the meeting, Dar congratulated Hashmi on assuming office on March 13, 2026, and extended his good wishes.

Both sides exchanged views on governance, economic development and public welfare initiatives.

The federal government reaffirmed its commitment to extending full support for development and prosperity across the provinces.
