Iran’s negotiating team is scheduled to meet Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday as part of high-level diplomatic engagements ahead of upcoming talks with the United States in Islamabad.
According to Iran’s Tasnim news agency, the delegation will meet Prime Minister Sharif at noon.
The media outlet, which is close to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, said the visit is part of preparations for US-Iran negotiations aimed at ending the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.
The Iranian team is led by Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf and includes Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.
On Friday evening, the delegation also met Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir, underscoring Islamabad’s central mediating role in the diplomatic process.
The meetings come ahead of high-stakes US-Iran talks in Islamabad, which aim to secure a durable settlement to the ongoing regional conflict.
