The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has finalised names for the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cabinet expansion, party sources said on Monday.
According to sources, in the fresh round of expansion, representation will be given to members from Charsadda, Swat, Mardan, Peshawar, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Malakand, Karak, and Tank districts.
Syed Qasim Ali Shah from Peshawar is set to rejoin the cabinet, while Asim Khan from the same district is likely to retain the portfolio of Education.
Other possible appointees include Khurshid Khattak from Karak, Usman Butt from Tank, Humayun Khan from Lower Dir, and Tariq Haryani and Ehteshamuddin from Mardan.
Earlier, Israr Safi from Mohmand district had been considered for inclusion, but his name was reportedly removed following opposition from certain quarters close to the chief minister.
Additionally, an unelected party member from Peshawar may also be added to the cabinet.
Two members from the Hazara division are also expected to be included in the expansion.
