Peshawar Zalmi defeated Rawalpindi Pindiz by five wickets in a high-scoring HBL PSL (Pakistan Super League) match at Gaddafi Stadium.
Chasing a daunting target of 215, Zalmi reached 215-5 in the final overs, powered by a late attacking innings from Michael Bracewell, who scored 35 runs and was named Player of the Match.
Earlier, Rawalpindi Pindiz posted 214-4 after winning the toss and opting to bat. Yasir Khan top-scored with 83, while Mohammad Rizwan made 41 and Kamran Ghulam added 37. Daryl Mitchell contributed 23 runs.
For Zalmi, Ali Raza claimed two wickets, while Aaron Hardie and Aamir Jamal took one each.
In reply, Mohammad Haris scored 47, Babar Azam made 39, Kusal Mendis added 31, and Abdul Samad chipped in with 33 to set up the chase.
For Rawalpindi, Imad Butt took two wickets, while Mohammad Amir, Asif Afridi and Rashad Hussain picked up one each.
Bracewell’s late surge ensured Zalmi crossed the line in a closely contested encounter.
