Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has ordered full monitoring of the country’s food supply and urged a comprehensive plan to export surplus food items to Gulf countries while ensuring high quality.

In a review meeting on Sunday, chaired by Shehbaz Sharif, officials briefed that Pakistan has abundant reserves of agricultural commodities, meat, poultry, dairy, and seafood, with no shortages.

The Prime Minister said the current situation presents an opportunity to support Gulf countries’ food security and expand Pakistan’s export capacity.

Shehbaz Sharif directed the Pakistan National Shipping Corporation (PNSC) to facilitate exports via sea routes and ordered the formation of a committee to review the situation daily.

Ambassadors and trade officers in Gulf countries were instructed to remain active in promoting exports.
