Security has been placed on high alert in Islamabad amid concerns over possible protests, with access to the Red Zone restricted and several routes closed on Friday.

According to officials, entry into the Red Zone has been limited, and roads leading to the area have been blocked.

Only Margalla Road remains open for traffic.

Routes have been sealed using containers, while around 1,000 security personnel have been deployed around the Red Zone to maintain order.

Authorities said Section 1 of the Constitution is in force in the federal capital, and a complete ban has been imposed on gatherings and rallies.

Officials added that security measures are being implemented to ensure law and order in the city.
