Senior Awam Pakistan Party leader Syed Zaeem Hussain Qadri passed away early Friday morning at around 4am in a private hospital in Defence, Lahore.
Family sources said he had been suffering from heart disease and was admitted three days ago, but could not survive.
Funeral prayers will be offered this evening after Maghrib prayers at Lawrence Road, Lahore.
Qadri was an active political figure in Punjab, serving as the Punjab spokesperson for the Awam Pakistan Party.
Earlier, he had been a member of the Punjab Assembly and also served as government spokesperson under the Pakistan Muslim League (N) ticket.
Political and social circles have expressed deep sorrow over his death, with various leaders paying tribute to his political services.
