HBL PSL 11 set to begin on March 26 as new teams join the league

The governing council of the HBL Pakistan Super League met at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore on Friday, with PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi in the chair.

The meeting was attended by representatives of all eight HBL PSL franchises, besides PCB and PSL officials, says a statement of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

During the meeting, the PCB chairman and all participants congratulated and welcomed the new team owners of Sialkot and Hyderabad to the HBL PSL family.

The PCB chairman and the HBL PSL organising team were also congratulated on the successful conduct of the new teams auction, which reflected the growth and evolution of the league. 

During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on various matters, including the schedule of the HBL PSL 11, player retentions, adoption of the player auction or a unique combination of auction and draft termed as ‘drauction’ and the option of opening direct signings.

It was decided that the HBL PSL 11 will kick off on March 26 as the fans, players and stakeholders look forward to entering the new era of the league.

The meeting was adjourned with the constitution of a working group to deliberate further on agenda items.
