Hollywood superstar Tom Cruise may be searching for romance, but his unusual sleeping habits are reportedly complicating his love life.
According to RadarOnline.com, the Mission: Impossible actor is extremely protective of his sleep and routinely retreats to a soundproof bedroom, nicknamed a “snoratorium,” after intimate moments with his partners.
While the setup ensures uninterrupted rest, it has allegedly proven to be a major turn-off for some of his romantic interests.
Cruise’s preference for sleeping alone first came to light in 2011, during his marriage to actress Katie Holmes, when reports revealed that a bedroom in his Los Angeles mansion had been specially soundproofed to block out noise caused by his snoring.
Since then, similar soundproof rooms have reportedly been installed in several of his homes around the world.
A source told RadarOnline.com that Cruise is well known in Hollywood circles for snoring, but what has frustrated partners more is his habit of disappearing into a separate, soundproofed room after sex.
According to the insider, the 62-year-old actor would need to find someone comfortable with his nighttime routine, and values sleep as much as he does.
Despite this, Cruise is said to still have his sights set on romance.
Following the end of a relationship with a younger music star, RadarOnline.com reported that Angelina Jolie and Jennifer Lopez are among the high-profile names allegedly on his radar.
Cruise was also recently linked to singer-songwriter Victoria Chanel, 26.
The pair were spotted together at the Glastonbury Festival in the UK and later at a concert in London, sparking speculation about a possible romance.
However, sources now say the relationship has fizzled out.
Reports dating back to Cruise’s marriage to Holmes suggested the couple eventually slept in separate bedrooms due to his snoring, indicating that his dedication to uninterrupted sleep has long been a part of his personal life.
While Tom Cruise continues to chase love, it appears that finding a partner willing to accept his snore-proof solitude may be one of his toughest missions yet.
