The government is likely to reduce petroleum product prices for the next 15 days, starting December 16, with a marginal cut in petrol prices and a significant decrease in high-speed diesel (HSD).
According to sources, the continued downward trend in international oil prices has raised the possibility of a price reduction in petroleum products for the upcoming fortnight beginning December 16, 2025.
In light of falling global crude oil prices, the decrease could reach up to Rs11.70 per litre, providing relief to consumers.
According to estimates based on 12 days of pricing data, a slight reduction of Rs0.36 per litre is expected in the price of petrol, while the price of high-speed diesel is likely to fall substantially by Rs11.85 per litre.
