Security forces eliminated nine terrorists affiliated with Fitna Al Khawarij in intelligence-based operations in two Khyber Pakhtunkhwa districts, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) reported on Saturday.
According to the ISPR, seven terrorists were killed in Tank during an operation based on secret intelligence.
The area was cleared, and a significant cache of weapons and ammunition was recovered.
In a separate operation in Lakki Marwat, security forces killed two more terrorists and seized additional arms and explosive materials.
The ISPR statement emphasised that the operations demonstrate the armed forces’ determination to maintain peace across the country.
Security forces will continue operations against terrorism until its complete eradication.
President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, on Saturday, lauded the security forces for successful operations against the India-backed Fitna-al-Khwarij in Tank and Lakki Marwat districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The president appreciated the timely and effective action of the security forces that resulted in the killing of Khwarij, the President’s Secretariat Press Wing said in a press release.
Paying homage to the sacrifices of the Shuhada and the Ghazis, he reiterated that the resolve of the nation and the security forces would remain firm till the complete elimination of this menace.
The president praised the morale of the forces for foiling the nefarious designs of the Fitna-al-Khwarij operating under Indian patronage.
The prime minister commended the security forces for eliminating 9 terrorists belonging to Fitna-al-Khwarij in these operations.
Under the vision of Azm-e-Istehkam, the security forces were achieving major successes in the fight against terrorism, he added.
“The entire nation stands with Pakistan’s armed forces in this war against terrorism,” PM Office Media Wing, in a press release, quoted the prime minister as saying.
He also expressed the resolve to completely eradicate all forms of terrorism from the country.
