A suicide attacker targeted a police van from Tajori Police Station in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Lakki Marwat district, resulting in the martyrdom of a cop on Monday.

According to the officials, six other people were left injured in the attack.

Police said two attackers were involved in the assault; one detonated himself at the scene while the other fled.

The injured personnel were shifted to the hospital, where the condition of two officers is said to be critical. The wounded include the additional SHO.

Authorities confirmed that seven policemen were inside the vehicle at the time of the blast. Head Constable Alauddin was martyred in the attack, while the injured were identified as Incharge Haq Nawaz, Shah Gulab, Anwar Kamal Ahmed, Naeemullah and Nasrullah.

Police cordoned off the area, collected evidence from the site, and launched a search operation to trace the fleeing attacker.
