A Lahore district court on Wednesday issued the release order for YouTuber Ducky Bhai, directing authorities to free him if he is not required in any other case.
Judicial Magistrate Naeem Bhutto signed the release order and sent the formal robkar to the superintendent of Camp Jail, instructing that the vlogger be released immediately should no other charges be pending against him.
The court’s directive completes the legal process for his release.
Earlier, the release of Saad-ur-Rehman, widely known as Ducky Bhai, was delayed on Tuesday despite the Lahore High Court granting him bail in a case over the promotion of gambling applications.
His lawyer, Amrit Sheikh, said the robkar verification is a time-consuming process and could not be completed before court hours ended.
Earlier, the court approved Ducky Bhai’s bail against a Rs1 million surety.
He was arrested for promoting gambling apps on his YouTube channel, which is illegal under country’s anti-gambling laws.
