The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) on Tuesday sent the remains of the slain attackers to a laboratory for DNA testing as part of its investigation into the suicide attacks on the Federal Constabulary (FC) headquarters in Peshawar.
According to the CTD, all three attackers arrived on a single motorcycle, travelling via Kohat Road and the Civil Quarters area before reaching the target location.
The assailants parked their bike a short distance from the FC headquarters and were armed with Kalashnikov rifles and more than eight hand grenades.
Authorities have also taken the motorcycle used in the attack into custody as part of the ongoing investigation.
It may be pointed out that three militants attempted to storm the FC headquarters on Monday. In the assault, three personnel were martyred and 11 others injured.
All three attackers were killed in the retaliatory response by security forces.
