Emergency drill to be held at Islamabad International Airport tomorrow

An emergency drill will be conducted at Islamabad International Airport tomorrow (October 30) in line with international standards set by the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO).

According to the Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA), the purpose of the exercise is to assess the operational readiness and response plans of various agencies.

The drill will simulate an aircraft crash scenario, with participation from rescue and medical teams.

Fire and rescue units, ambulance services, and law enforcement agencies will also take part in the exercise.

A PAA spokesperson said that any smoke or movement of ambulances visible at the airport on the day of the exercise will be part of the drill, and passengers should not be alarmed.

Rescue vehicles and firefighting activities seen during the exercise will form part of the training process.

The PAA officials said that all flight operations will continue as per schedule and that no disruption to airport activities is expected due to the safety measures in place.
