The full-scale exercise will simulate an aircraft crash to test rescue response and coordination among emergency teams

An emergency drill will be conducted at Islamabad International Airport tomorrow (October 30) in line with international standards set by the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO).

According to the Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA), the purpose of the exercise is to assess the operational readiness and response plans of various agencies.

The drill will simulate an aircraft crash scenario, with participation from rescue and medical teams.

Fire and rescue units, ambulance services, and law enforcement agencies will also take part in the exercise.

A PAA spokesperson said that any smoke or movement of ambulances visible at the airport on the day of the exercise will be part of the drill, and passengers should not be alarmed.
