The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Education Department has received an overwhelming 867,000 applications for 16,454 vacant positions in government schools, highlighting the intense competition for teaching jobs in the province.
According to official data from the government’s testing agency, 395,000 women and 470,000 men have applied for these positions.
The sheer number of applicants underscores the growing demand for stable government employment.
In a surprising revelation, 406 PhD holders have also applied for these teaching roles, indicating the high level of qualification among job seekers.
