Parliamentary committee calls in-camera meeting on national security

On the advice of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq has summoned an in-camera meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on National Security on Tuesday at 1:30pm.

According to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office, the meeting will be held behind closed doors to discuss the security situation in the country.

The military leadership will brief the parliamentary committee on the current security scenario.

The meeting will take place in the National Assembly Hall and will be attended by parliamentary leaders of all political parties, their nominated representatives, and relevant cabinet members.

The statement further added that the in-camera session will include a briefing on national security challenges, followed by consultations among political parties to formulate a unified policy.
