Karachi mayor, deputy mayor safe after lift collapses at hospital

Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab and Deputy Mayor Salman Abdullah Murad were safe when a lift fell from the fourth floor and got stuck on the first floor of Abbasi Shaheed Hospital on Tuesday.

The incident occurred while the mayor was at the hospital for the opening of the Hemophilia Treatment Center in the hospital.

The lift was overloaded with over 15 people, causing it to get stuck for about 5 to 10 minutes, officials said.

All passengers were also unharmed in the incident.
