Notorious criminal killed after demanding Rs2.5 million for dead body

A high-profile criminal wanted for numerous serious offenses, including murder, kidnapping, and extortion, has been killed in a shootout with police in Lahore, Punjab province. The suspect, identified as Rafiq, also known as “Pheeki,” was a known triggerman involved in organized crime.

The incident occurred yesterday during a police operation in Model Town. According to DSP Chaudhry Faisal Sharif, officers from the Organized Crime Unit were transporting Rafiq to Nishtar Colony police station to recover stolen goods and weapons when they came under heavy fire from unknown assailants. Police believe the attackers were attempting to free Rafiq.

The ensuing exchange of gunfire resulted in Rafiq’s death. He was a notorious figure in Lahore, Sheikhupura, and Kasur, with a long rap sheet including dozens of cases of murder, kidnapping for ransom, attempted murder, terrorism, extortion, and robbery.

DSP Sharif revealed a particularly heinous crime committed by Rafiq. He stated that Rafiq murdered a civilian and then demanded a ransom of Rs2.5 million from the victim’s family in exchange for the body. When the family failed to pay, Rafiq callously disposed of the body in a canal.
