Several female students injured after jumping out of window over false earthquake alarm

Over a dozen female students at a government girls’ high school in Jehanian tehsil, Khanwal district, Punjab, sustained injuries after jumping from the second floor of the school building following a false alarm of an earthquake.

According to school teachers, the incident occurred due to the heavy machinery sounds and vibrations from a nearby construction site on the Muhalqa Road.

The sounds and vibrations frightened the students, causing a stampede.

Rescue services responded and transported the injured students to the hospital. Among the injured are Mairaj Fatima (14), Nisha Naveed (10), Zulekha (13), Laiba Kulsum (14), Mahnoor Nazakat (13), Munsaa Shokat (12), Faiza Ramadan (13), and Anfal Tariq (13).

All the injured students received injuries as a result of jumping from the second floor of the building.
