New Gwadar international airport set to open by month-end

The Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) announced that the New Gwadar International Airport is scheduled to begin operations by the end of December.

Final preparations for the airport’s launch are underway, as confirmed by a PAA spokesperson.

Zeeshan Saeed, the Acting Director General of PAA, recently inspected the airport alongside Deputy DG Airports Sadiq Rehman.

During the visit, Project Director Faizullah Khattak briefed them on the facility’s readiness for operation and discussed business opportunities associated with the airport and the economic zones linked to the project.

The state-of-the-art airport, which has cost $246 million—including a grant from China—features a large runway and a modern terminal capable of accommodating various types of large aircraft.
