‘Rockstar’-fame actor Nargis Fakhri’s sister Aliya Fakhri has been arrested in connection with the alleged murder of her ex-boyfriend and his friend in Queens, New York.
The 43-year-old is accused of setting fire to a two-story garage, resulting in the deaths of 35-year-old Edward Jacobs and 33-year-old Anastasia Ettienne.
The incident occurred on November 2, when Fakhri reportedly shouted, “you’re all going to die today” before igniting the blaze. A nearby witness, alerted by her outburst, discovered the garage engulfed in flames. Jacobs was asleep upstairs, while Ettienne attempted to rescue him but could not escape the fire.
Both victims succumbed to smoke inhalation and thermal injuries, according to the District Attorney’s office. Fakhri is facing four counts of first-degree murder, four counts of second-degree murder, and arson charges from a grand jury. If convicted of the most serious charge, she could face life in prison. She has been remanded in custody, with her next court appearance set for December 9.
District Attorney Melinda Katz described the incident as a tragic case of malicious intent, resulting in the deaths of two individuals trapped in the fire. A witness recounted a harrowing scene, noting the smell of burning and the sight of a couch ablaze on the stairs. He mentioned that Ettienne initially escaped but went back in to save Jacobs.

The relationship between Fakhri and Jacobs was reportedly abusive, with the witness stating that she had previously threatened to burn down his home. Jacobs’ mother revealed that he had ended his relationship with Fakhri about a year ago, a breakup that reportedly left her unable to cope.
Despite the serious allegations, Jacobs’ mother expressed disbelief that Aliya could commit such acts, describing her as caring and helpful. She also mentioned that Aliya had struggled with opioid addiction following a dental incident, which may have influenced her actions.
